This is the guy with whom Palin reputedly had an affair. Nothing happens for four months and suddenly when the cheating rumor hits, he rushes to court to get his divorce records sealed. Motion denied the next day.

Rumor from Alaska is that this refers to an affair the wife, Debbie, had with one of Palin's advisers. Todd Palin got him fired. Since the order was denied, this will be public soon.

John McCain was a prisoner in Vietnam. So was Gary Glitter, and I'm not voting for him either.

Scott Alan Richter is the "business partner"? What business was he a partner with Todd Palin in? The car wash, the fishing enterprise, or the North Slope oil field on which Todd Palin was a production operator for 20 years? If it's the car wash, could the state's shutting it down have been retaliation in the dispute?

State policy on co-worker relations

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sat, 2008-07-26 11:31.

There is no such state policy. Even if there were, Debbie Richter was not Bitney’s co-worker. He worked in the Governor’s Office in the Capitol Building and she works in the Dept. of Revenue in another office building. This was not a matter of any state policy being breached. This is an incident right out of high school–”You’re seeing my ex-girlfriend and me and my gang will get you.” The Palins decided to go after Bitney because Scott Richter, Todd’s friend and Sarah’s ex-boyfriend asked them to. Richter is also a business partner with the Palins in investment property in the Mat-Su Valley. The Palins and Scott Richter would not let it go after John Bitney was hired by Rep. Harris. Richter wanted him fired from his new job and the Palins tried to apply pressure to make this happen. They underestimated Rep. Harris who is tough and honorable–qualities foreign to the Palins. This tawdry affair should sicken Alaskans who care about their State. We elected an individual with no moral compass, no education, no background, no experience, just a blinding need to be the most popular girl in school. “Cute” can only take you so far then the veneer starts to peel.

UPDATE: I learn from this blog that Scott Richter is a partner in "investment property in the Mat-Su Valley". I wonder just how many businesses the Palins are involved in.

So, it is believed to be about this scandal? We may need to start naming them individually - Troopergate is just one, the firing of the police chief - another and then there's this one...

The original website for this thread is somewhat difficult but not impossible to reach. Wait and try again, is probably the best course of action.

Since noon, I have been able to view that site once, then failed twice. I'll not try again for now, it is just way too busy.

GOV. PALIN AND HUSBAND OWN 5 PROPERTIES -- SOME WITH A FRIEND

The surprise announcement that Sen. John McCain [R-Arizona] has selected a relative unknown for his vice presidential running mate was apparently timed to take some of the glory off of the acceptance speech Sen. Barack Obama [R-Illinois], delivered last evening, Thursday, August 29th, 2008. McCain chose perky Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska as his choice to move into Number One Observatory Circle N.W., in Washington, D.C. The home of Governor Palin and First Gentleman Todd Palin at 1140 W. Parks Highway, in Wasilla Alaska, [map] is bounded by the Alaska Railroad and Lake Lucille. It's about 40 miles north of Anchorage in the Glacier District of Matanuska-Susitna Borough [satellite photo]. The residence, in the Snider Inheritance subdivision, is valued at $116,200 for the land, and $435,900 for the improvements, for a total of $552,100. On this, the Palins have paid their property tax of $6,562.26 in full. The Palins also own a couple of apparently undeveloped properties up on Safari Lake [map]. These are owned in partnership with Scott A. Richter, a friend of the first family. The Palins also have an undeveloped stretch up near Trapper Creek. All told, it looks like the Palins control about 37 acres of Alaskan real estate.
This concludes Milwaukeeworld's Vice Presidential candidates real estate watch for 2008.

Council Member Hanson was elected by the City of Palmer voters to serve in October of 2002 and re-elected October 2005. His current term ends in October 2008.

Location: 325 E. Dolphin
Palmer, AK 99645

Printer-friendly Version

HERE are the Allegations surrounding this developing story:

-The affair apparently happened in the mid 1990's, around the time Palin had just become mayor of the small Alsakan town of Wasilla.

-The man alleged to have had the affair with Sarah Palin was a guy by the name of Brad Hanson.

-Some reports say Brad Hanson is a
council member with the Alaskan city of Palmer.

-Brad Hanson was a business partner of Sarah Palin's husband, Todd. Brad Hanson and Todd Palin shared a Anchorage Car Wash venture together.

-Brad Hanson was apparently also married at the time, he divorced his wife not long after.

- According to reports today, this week Brad Hanson filed an emergency motion to have his divorce papers sealed with an Alaskan family court. The motion was... denied.

-According to the National Enquirer, there definitely "was" an affair, but some sources suggest it was pretty tame. Just "reportedly flirtatious.... but (Palin and Brad Hanson) never consummated the relationship."

-In its latest news stand editions, The National Enquirer said: "Todd discovered the affair and quickly dissolved his friendship and business associations with the guy. Many people in Alaska are talking about the rumour and say Todd swept it under the rug."

And more:

A few days ago the National Enquirer alleged an affair between Republican Presidential Nominee John McCain's running mate Sarah Palin and her husband's business partner, Scott Richter. We covered it here at the BTW too. A report then emerged that Brad Hanson was actually the man with the adulterous relationship with Palin.

However, it turns out that Scott Richter, not Hanson, filed an emergency motion on Wednesday to have his divorce papers sealed and Richter's motion was denied. The above image is a screen shot of the court records.

Alaskan Abroad, the blog of an Alaskan journalist, reports that the Hanson rumor refers to the time when Palin became mayor of Wasilla in the mid-1990s. Sarah's husband Todd Palin owned a snowmobile dealership with his business partner Hanson (pictured below). They sold the business after a falling out between Todd Palin and Hanson. The alleged reason was a "flirtatious" relationship between Sarah Palin and Hanson.

Questions still remain as in how was Hanson's name leaked?
Did
Palin have 2 adulterous relationships?
What is the real story between Hanson and Todd Palin?
Why the sudden rush by Richter to seal year and half old divorce records?

It's getting more and more fun, isn't it? Sort of like Mayberry RFD, except with corruption, vendettas (other than Floyd the Barber getting mad at Barney), sex, drugs, more corruption and lots and lots of lying (I know Opie lied once, but he admitted it because it bothered his conscience).

Obama can just step back and this will all come pouring out.

My mind just went back a few years, remember the Clinton and Lewinsky scandal? Clinton said they never had "sex" maybe Palin is parsing words so maybe Palin IS playing the role of Monica? Cause Palin and Hanson according to the rumor, never has "sex"! Hey a new nickname for Palin, Sarah 'Monica' Palin !!!

Remember Rush laughing about "bloodying up" Obama just for sport?

I'm enjoying this immensely. Since she lawyered up and won't talk to reporters, ever, speculation can run wild and all they can do is screech.

The press is loving this. We're doing their work for them AND pressuring Palin to answer the questions. Let's see how long this "no press conferences" crap lasts. Eventually, after every paper in the country has called her a liar and bully and incompetent, she HAS to finally answer questions. And by then, the MSM will have some doozies to throw at her.

McCain, who until May or so could do no wrong with the press, is now considered a jerk and liar. He will get no more breaks from them.

hell yeah, the rePUKES can dish it out they are the most disgusting vile creatures when it comes to a smear campaign and HOW dare they point the finger at the Obama campaign? He has ZERO to do with the exposure of Palin and her vile deeds. AND that is the problem with the rePUKES, they will DO ANYTHING, SAY ANYTHING to avoid exposure. Their little propaganda campaign has finally met it's match, and it's not a political campaign or party, it's bloggers, everyday people who are goddamned sick of their hypocrisy!

Seems some MSM are reading this site. Alaska bloggers may well bring the lipstick pitbull down. This is why they VET candidates. Every major press entity now has someone in Alaska poking through records. She has been the candidate for seven days and about 10 hours. Imagine what will come up in 60 days, now that they have told the press to go f**k themselves...hahahaha

Man Named in Alleged Sarah Palin Affair

The John McCain camp has threatened legal action against the National Enquirer in recent days for reporting that his running mate, Sarah Palin, had an affair while married to her husband, Todd.

The Enquirer's own anonymous source claims: "Todd discovered the affair and quickly dissolved his friendship and business associations with the guy. Many people in Alaska are talking about the rumour and say Todd swept it under the rug."

The man at the center of the campaign, according to Alaskan Abroad, the blog of an Alaskan journalist, reports that the allegation refers to the time when Palin became mayor of Wasilla in the mid-1990s.

Palin's husband Todd owned a snowmobile dealership with his business partner Brad Hanson. Apparently Hanson, who was also married, and Sarah got on famously; Alaskan Abroad's sources say the two were "flirtatious but never consummated the relationship".

"When Todd found out, he reportedly dissolved the partnership and sold the dealership. Hanson is now a member of the Palmer City Council."

Brad Hanson is currently a city council member in Palmer, Alaska.

The McCain campaign has gone on record as saying the "affair story" is nothing more than a "vicious lie".

"The smearing of the Palin family must end. The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Governor Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false. It is a vicious lie," said McCain Chief Strategiest, Steve Schmidt.

"The efforts of the media and tabloids to destroy this fine and accomplished public servant are a disgrace. The American people will reject it."

The National Enquirer has gained some respect in recent weeks as the media outlet which broke another "extra marital affair" story. This one proved to be true and later confirmed by the target of the story, former Presidential candidate John Edwards.

Palin is at the center of another major scandal that could prove far more damaging. She herself has hired an attorney to try and diffuse the matter aptly titled "Trooper Gate".

An investigation is under way into whether Palin used her office to push for her ex-brother-in-law's firing from the Alaska State Police and whether she ultimately fired Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan for refusing to sack him.

Mike Wooten was the state trooper and ex-brother-in-law of Palin's. The Alaska Governor has denied any wrongdoing, saying her decision to fire Monegan involved budgetary concerns and moving the department in a new direction. Palin has acknowledged that aides and members of her family repeatedly discussed Wooten with Monegan or members of his department, but she said at no time did she or anyone else acting at her request use her office to press for Wooten's firing.

Before becoming governor, Palin wrote to state investigators in 2005, issuing a series of allegations against Wooten.

In 2006, state investigators found Wooten guilty of "a significant pattern of judgment failures," including using a Taser on his 10-year-old stepson and drinking beer while operating a state trooper vehicle. Wooten was suspended for 10 days as "a last chance to take corrective action."

Another firestorm involves Palin's decision to fly from Texas to Alaska, nearly nine hours, while 8 months pregnant after her water had apparently broke.

This controversy has Gambling911.com readers engaging in a heated discussion over the Republican Vice Presidential nominee‘s judgment.

One angry reader was prompted to comment:

I feel it is detrimental to our nation to have a possible President with such horrible judgment. I agree with Barack Obama that children in Politics are off limits. However, this is not about her daughter, it is about her. Sarah Palin either, 1. Flat out lied to the American people .....or ..... 2. She is irresponsible and naive; unworthy of the 2nd and possibly the highest position in our nation (McCain is 72 ys. old) To go into premature labor and not go to the hospital immediately but give a 30 minute speech then catch an 8 hour flight showcases horrible judgment. With McCain being 72 ys. old, we must ask ourselves; Is this the behavior of a President?

"but really, what does it say about your judgment when you think George Bush has been right more than ninety percent of the time?" - Senator Barack Obama on Senator John McCain
